Please know there are much better things in life than being liked or lonely or bitter or mean or self-conscious. Go love someone just because. I know your heart may be badly bruised or even the victim of numerous knifings, but it will always heal, even if you don’t want it to, it keeps going. There are the most fantastic, beautiful things and people out there, I promise. It is up to you to find them.
The thing about life that I’ve learned is that you’re going to get hurt. You’re going to have emotional nights and cry yourself to sleep for hours. You’re going to suffer some kind of heartbreak, some kind of loss. But you will also have those moments where you heal. Those moments are the best. You feel like you smile for the first time again. You feel like you’re alive again. Life just kind of restarts.
I forgive you… for everything. For breaking my heart about seven times, and for lying to me about almost everything. I forgive you for not being the person I thought you were, and I forgive you for never being able to tell me you didn’t love me like I loved you. I forgive you for everything. And it’s not because you’ve proved you’re not that guy anymore, and it’s not because secretly I want us to be normal again. It’s because I’ve realized that you didn’t mean to hurt me, and that it wasn’t worth my time anymore to be angry with you. We’re different people than we were when I fell in love with you. And as far as I’m concerned… finally falling out of love with you was the best thing that ever happened to me. So I don’t have to be bitter anymore, and I don’t have to be mad at you anymore. I just have to remember that we were kids when that happened, and that we’re not the same people we used to be. We’ll never be those people ever again. So yes, I forgive you… for everything.
Don’t settle for anything less than someone who loves you.

Love isn’t the small scene of romance you’re exposed to
as a teenager. It’s far different, far more real.
Real love is hard to come by, but it comes.
Maybe not for a while, but it shows up at some point.
